Kohima : The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has expressed dismay over the functioning of Government schools in Eastern Nagaland and has empowered all the federating units to tackle the issues pertaining to proxy teachers.
According to a press release issued by the Assistant General Secretary of Eastern Naga Students’ Federation Kumcho Yimchunger stated that the federation’s attention has been drawn to the schools in Eastern Nagaland which are functioning without adequate teachers and practice of proxy teachers. It said the issue was deliberated at its recently held presidential meeting with the Confederation of Chang Students’ Union, Phom Students’ Conference, Yimchunger Akheru Arihako, United Sangtam Students’ Conference, Khiamnungan Students’ Union and Konyak Students’ Union, at DUDA guest house in Kohima. Despite its effort and appeal, ENSF said not much has been initiated or resolved till today by the concerned authorities. ENSF said that such attitudes and policy would rather culminate in igniting more illiteracy within the four districts of Eastern Nagaland, Tuensang, Mon, Kiphire and Longleng.
In order to resolve the issue, the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation said it has empowered all the federating units to tackle the issues pertaining to proxy teachers and also in pursuance to the minutes adopted during its presidential meeting. Eastern Naga Students’ Federation has also directed all the Departmental officers posted within its jurisdiction to be stationed at their respective postings. Failing which, Eastern Naga Students’ Federation cautioned to take action against the erring officers, the release said. (UNI)
