Woman alleges assault, MLA denies

SHILLONG: A woman accused the South Shillong legislator Sanbor Shullai of assaulting her on Friday at his official residence at Kench’s Trace and made a verbal complaint to the police.
The police had taken her for medical examination, but the woman did not file any FIR.
When contacted, the NCP legislator said that the woman who was drunk came with a few people to his official residence at 5. 30 pm and created nuisance and later they were chased away.
“I feel someone sent her to tarnish my image as it is the election time”, Shullai said.
Police said all claims and counter claims are being verified.
