GUWAHATI: The Indian Air Force (IAF) is organising a `Know Your Forces’ event at Air Force Station Borjhar here from 11 to 13 August, as part of Independence Day celebration 2017.
A Defence spokesman informed that it would be a rare opportunity for the residents of Assam and other parts of North East India, to get a firsthand feel of IAF aircrafts like Dornier& Avro Transport Aircrafts , MI-17 Helicopters and Microlight Aircraft on 11 and 12 August next from 10 AM to 2 PM.
The visitors to the event will be allowed to go inside the aircrafts, see the cockpit and also click selfies and photographs. There will be Air Force personnel present to explain the operation of aircrafts to the visitors.
In addition the IAF band will also be giving performances for the public at Community Centre Mountain Shadow Air Force Station at 5.30pm on 11 August and at Pragjyoti Auditorium Machkowa at 5.30pm on 12 August .
The public is requested to avail this unique opportunity of getting the feel of their own Air Force Aircrafts and other equipment.
