One held for drug possession
Residents of Bishop Falls, Lower Mawprem, on Wednesday apprehended one suspected drug peddler from the locality and recovered twenty-four packets of small wrapped papers containing suspected heroin from his possession. Police arrested the accused.

FIR for tarnishing reputation
Leena Daring Sangma, BDO, C&RD Block Resubelpara lodged a complaint that on August 5, during a public meeting at Nogolpara in North Garo Hills, Sengkal Marak maligned her reputation as well as of Marthon Sangma, MLA of Mendipathar constituency, alleging both of them against utilisation of MGNREGS works and tried to mislead the public.

Coal-laden truck detained
On August 9 at 6.15 pm, police detected two coal laden trucks (1) ML-04B-2032, driven by Shaibor Lyngdoh and (2) ML-11-1753, driven by Pradip Chakma at Umling, Ri Bhoi.

Man assaulted
On August 9 around 11 pm, public assaulted Barjana Tede (32) at Madanrting. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was admitted at CH Shillong. Matter is under enquiry.

Youth held for stealing
On August 9 around 7.45 pm, Maitshaphrang Khymdait (21) was caught while he was attempting to steal a car tape from the vehicle of Willstar Nongrum at Police Bazar. Police arrested the accused.

Laptop stolen
On August 8 around 9 pm, miscreants stole a laptop, keys, document, etc, from the house of Subhash Pachar at Upper Mawprem.
