SHILLONG: Nangkiew Irat defeated Mawlai SC 2-1 in the First Division Football Tournament at the JN Sports Complex at Polo here on Friday.
Roikhih Nongtdu gave Nangkiew the lead as early as in the seventh minute but Teibor Dhar helped Mawlai draw parity during injury time of the first half.
However, Meban Wahlang sealed the match with a goal for Nangkiew in the 61st minute.
In the Second Division Football League, Sohryngkham SC edged past Sohiong Boys 1-0 with Dishan K Myndai scoring an own goal in the 66th minute of the match.
