Shillong Lajong lose quarterfinals at BRICS U-12 football tourney

SHILLONG: Shillong Lajong Academy lost against Green Town Yuhua Taohuayuan (China) 5-4 in the penalty shootout after the score was tied at 1-1 during the quarterfinal match of the BRICS U-12 International Youth Football Tournament held in China on Saturday morning.

After losing the quarterfinals, Shillong Lajong Academy played another match on Saturday against Luch-Energia Vladivostok FC (Russia). Lajong U-12 Team emerged victorious winning the game 4-3 in the tie-breaker after the match ended 3-3 in normal time.

With this win, the boys are scheduled to play on August 21 against a team that is yet to be confirmed in what will be the ultimate decider for the 5th or 6th place.
