4 held for violating NGT order
On August 17 around 10 am, while conducting coal mine raids over Sohkymphor areas, police detained Shabat Lyngdoh while he was extracting coal in violation of NGT order from a coal quarry belonging to Pil Suchiang.
On the same day, while conducting coal mine raids over Sohkymphor areas, three persons namely Shimeris Talan, Manik Rymbai and Moibai Lamare were arrested while they were extracting coal in violation of NGT order.

Employee steals Rs 45000
Kailash Tharad of Shree Mahadeo Stores lodged a complaint that on August 17 around 9.30 pm, his employee identified as Sanjit, stole Rs. 45,000 cash, one gold ring and one ATM card of Maharashtra Bank.

Car turns turtle in Ri Bhoi, 5 injured
On August 16 around 10.20 am, one Maruti Swift car (AS-01-BY-2933) driven by Dipankar Kalita turned turtle and dashed against a truck (ML-05G-8658) at Jyntru. As a result, the driver and four occupants of the Maruti Swift car sustained injuries and were shifted to Hospital.

Car stolen in WGH
Sanjay Hajong lodged a complaint that on August 16 around 8 pm, miscreants stole his Maruti Wagon-R vehicle (AS-01P-4133) which was parked near the Circuit House, Tura (WGH).
