NE’s 2nd International cricket stadium coming up in Tripura

Agartala, Aug 21 (UNI) Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar today laid the foundation of much awaited for cricket stadium of international standard here at the ground of Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT). This would be second of its kind northeast after Guwahati. The Ram Kripal Singh Construction Company Private Limited has been entrusted with the project work of the stadium with worth Rs 185 crore which is expected to take upon the Tripura Cricket Association to hunt for talents of the region and also to attract the international players. While addressing the gathering chief minister urged upon the construction company to complete the work within two years of the deadline and maintain the quality of the construction work. He said, “As we are using the ground of Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT), this is our duty to open an alternative ground for the college students which is currently lying vacant. The TCA must focus on hunting talents from this state and put them in the international standard tournaments in future.” However, the stadium of international standard would come up in 18.38 acres of land in the northern part of Agartala.
