SHILLONG: A woman shopkeeper has alleged that two Assam Rifles personnel, who were inebriated and in civil dresses, allegedly abused her at AR Bazar Happy Valley, Shillong.

When she asked for smaller denominations, they indecently abused her and left without paying.
Later, the two personnel returned with around a dozen colleagues and alleged that her son had assaulted them, but when they saw a police patrol party, they fled.
Later, the Assam Rifles Commandant informed Madanrting PS over the phone that two AR personnel – Deepak Kumar Das (26) and Govind Thakur (27) – sustained injuries and were being sent for medical examination in their unit hospital.
