Woman alleges fraud in vehicle purchase

SHILLONG: A person identified as Chanda Gurung lodged a complaint that in February 2016, she entered into an agreement with four persons Shadeep Sunar, Ram Rajput, Pajen Nepali and Neizo Benuh to purchase one Mahindra Bolero SLX in her name, on finance from Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Ltd., Shillong.
The vehicle was delivered on December 19, 2016 on down payment of Rs. 2 lakh with an EMI of Rs. 13,800
Later, they deposited only Rs. 1,10,000 in the account of the complainant for the purpose of EMI and failed to deposit the remaining amount. When the complainant enquired about the payment of EMI, they threatened her with dire consequences and demanded Rs 5 lakh from her.
