Woman shot at in EGH

SHILLONG: A woman was shot by miscreants in East Garo Hills on Saturday around 12.15 am.
The 55-year-old woman identified as Momoti N Sangma was shot at her legs. Momoti was sleeping in her shop at Upper Chidikgre when the incident happened. The victim is undergoing medical treatment.

Five held for violating NGT ban
SHILLONG: On August 24, police arrested four persons namely Md. Burbin Alam, Md. Baharul Alam, Md. Nazrul Islam and Md. Imran Hussain, while they were illegally extracting coal at Shiliang Umshong in violation of NGT order.
On the same day, police detained person Nehar Sukla Baidya while he was illegally extracting coal at Shiliang Umshong.
