SHILLONG: The Garo Students Union, central body has appealed for the immediate release of BDO of Dadenggre, PK Boro who was abducted by the GNLA militants last week.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, GSU CEC President Tengsak G. Momin said that the kidnapping of P.K. Bodo is a smear on the close and brotherly relationship maintained by both the communities.

The GSU stated that the kidnapping of the officer who belong to the Bodo community may strain the relationship to such an extent that even if the ethnic clash between the Garos and Bodos do not come to pass we must remember there is a sizable population of Garos  in the Bodoland Territorial Council

“The GNLA must understand the close association and help given by the Bodos during critical situations of ethnic clash,” the statement added.
