SHILLONG: The Garo Hills State Movement Committee (GHSMC) has extended gratitude to People’s Democratic Front for its support to the proposed Garoland
In a statement on Saturday, GHSMC Co-chairman, Balkarin Ch. Marak said “We thank the PDF for supporting us in our demand for Garoland.”
The committee has been demanding a separate state for Garos. Marak hoped their demand will be a reality with the support of political parties like GNC, UDP, HSPDP and KHNAM.
The GHSMC has welcomed H. S. Shylla’s statement, “The state government next year will have to face a major issue and that is to accept our Garo friends’ demand for Garoland” as reported in the media.
