Contractual teachers submit memo to Conrad

TURA: Contractual teachers from Garo Hills under the banner of the All Garo Hills Government LP School Contractual Teachers’ Association (AGHGLPSCTA) have met Tura MP Conrad K Sangma and urged him to look into their various problems.

In their meeting with Sangma, the teachers submitted a memorandum urging him to look into problems being faced by them due to the non-disbursement of their salaries for holiday months- 15 days in December, 31 days in January and 15 days in February.

The teachers also apprised Sangma on the issue of NIOS D.El.Ed training which is being denied by the government to contractual teachers making them vulnerable to be removed.

The issue of service regularization was also discussed during their meeting with a request to look into the matter.

The Tura MP is said to have assured the teachers that all the issues discussed would be looked into.
