Warjri assures hospital on manpower

SHILLONG: Health Minister Roshan Warjri has said her department will take up the issue of manpower shortage faced by the Police Hospital here.
The minister was referring to the statement made by S. Khonglah, medical superintendent of the hospital, that the facility was functioning with skeletal staff and that the need of the hour was to appoint a male and a female nurses.
“Surely, we will look into this matter which is of utmost importance as you do need manpower,” Warjri said.
The minister was at the hospital to attend an ambulance contribution programme on Tuesday.
The ambulance was donated by V-Guard Industries Ltd as part of its CSR project.
The minister also lauded the yeoman service delivered by the men in uniform. She said, “We are living in a peaceful state and normality has been restored.”
She said there was peace and tranquility across the state with God’s grace and commitment of the police personnel with cooperation from the public.
The minister also requested the V-Guard Industries Ltd which is a major electrical appliances manufacturer in India, to contribute ambulances for serving patients in the far-flung areas of the state.
