Shillong police to contact Facebook to trace origin of malicious post

SHILLONG: Following a malicious post in the social media `Facebook’ about the `incident’ pertaining to Marvelene Inn case, Shillong Police will now take up the case with the Facebook authority to trace the identity of the real user responsible for the particular post.

East Khasi Hills SP Davis Marak said that that the person who made the post appears to be a freak user and even the person’s account and the post had disappeared from the social networking website

“We are taking up the case with Facebook and   we will try to find out who is behind the post and whether there was a personal vendetta in posting such malicious post or it was a fact,” Davis Marak said.

Following the posting of the controversial post in the Facebook, Shillong police has received three FIRs and the case has been registered.

The entire episode which put the Marvelene Inn into the scanner emerged once again after a Facebook user uploaded a controversial post about the incident.

Phiba Sharai uploaded a status in which the user made many controversial statements on the matter.
