Seven of a family fall ill after consuming wild mushroom

NONGPOH: At least seven members of a family from Mawkhla village under Nongpoh Police station fell ill after allegedly consuming wild mushroom collected from nearby forest in the village, according to delayed information received here.

This incident occurred on Friday evening at around 7 PM when all the member of the family consumed the poisonous wild mushroom that was cooked for dinner. They were brought to Nongpoh Civil Hospital for treatment on the same evening, but, they were later shifted to NEIGRIHMS for further treatment as their condition worsened.

The victims were identified as Elithia Makdoh (1 year), Skhembor Kupar (11 years), Shanskhem Kupar Makdoh (9 years), Wanlam Makdoh (13 years), Ariohiki Makdoh (6 years) Khrawkupar Makdoh (18 years) and Dondor Makdoh (26 years). Their condition was stated to be improving in NEIGRIMS.
