SHILLONG: In a bid to strengthen the United Democratic Party -Hill State People’s Democratic Party (UDP-HSPDP) alliance a co-ordination committee (HSPDP-UDP) was formed for 23-Mawphlang constituency.
In a press statement, the media cell of the HSPDP stated that the committee was formed to strengthen the alliance and to ensure victory in Mawphlang constituency in the 2018 Assembly elections.
The alliance has elected Kester Warjri as President of co-ordination committee and P R Kharshiing as General Secretary besides 52 other members from the constituency.
It may be mentioned that prominent political leader, Pynshai Manik Syiem will be contesting on an HSPDP ticket from the constituency.
Attack at Paul’s residence condemned
HSPDP president, Ardent Basaiawmoit has condemned the petrol bomb attack at the residence of UDP MLA, Paul Lyngdoh on Monday. He observed that such incidents disturbed the peace and harmony in the society and urged the police department to take the matter seriously ensuring that such incidents do not recur.
