TURA: Residents of several localities under South Tura have lamented the delay by the Tura Municipal Board (TMB) to install street lights at various vulnerable locations of the town despite a complaint being submitted to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) nearly a month ago.
The residents along with social activist and leader of the United South Tura Club (USTC), Anamika J G Momin had on September 1 last met the official and submitted a letter urging her to look into the problems being faced by the people.
As per the letter, the installation of street lights is required at Akonggre, Diringagre (Dakopgre near Dikki Bandi Stadium), Chunmati, Dolampong, Matchakolgre, Rishipara (way to Mandhir), Soksanang, Nikwatgre, Walbakgre including Upper and Lower Sunny Hills in New Tura.
“People from these localities feel insecure once evening comes as there are no street lights. Once again, we would like to request the concerned authority to look into the matter and we hope that there are no more delays,” Momin said.
