SHILLONG: The mining and geology department has approved four mining plans to various individuals from Khasi-Jaintia and Ri Bhoi areas which would help them to start mine lime stones.
After the ban on mining limestones by the High Court, the state government had framed rules to facilitate mining. The submission of mining plans and their approval is necessary for the miners to carry out mining of lime stones.
An official said that the miners will have to get other clearances from the Forest department before finally carrying out mining.
