Electoral Rolls
 The Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) of 30-Mairang (ST) and 31-Mawthadraishan (ST) Assembly Constituencies has informed that the Election Commission of India has drawn up detail schedules for summary  revision of electoral rolls with reference to January 1, 2018 as qualifying date and draft Photo Electoral Roll for the above constituencies are available for inspection at the office of the ERO/Asst ERO and at all polling stations.

Dry day
Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi, ordered the closure of all IMFL retail shops, bars in hotels, bonded warehouses, bottling units, country made spirit shops, outstills, breweries, canteens etc, located in the district on September 30 and October 2, on account of Dussehra (Vijaya Dashami) and Gandhi Jayanti respectively. However, the District Magistrate of West Jaintia Hills has declared dry day on September 29 and 30.

Training programme
The Meghalaya State Disaster Management Authority organised a 3-day training programme and mock drill at St Edmund’s College from September 7-9, in collaboration with the Civil Defence and Home Guards, NSS and NCC Units of the college. The programme comprised of two days training sessions for volunteers and one day mock drill on earthquake preparedness which was imparted by the Civil Defence Team headed by W Nonglang, Inspector, General Training Institute, Civil Defence and Home Guards.
Rice released
Deputy Commissioner (Supply)  East Khasi Hills District, has informed that rice under NFSA 2013, for Priority House Holds (PHH) and Antyodaya Anna Yojana, and rice under NON NFSA for the month of September 2017, quota in urban and rural has been released and will be distributed through the respective Fair Price Shops.

Cleaning drive
The North-Eastern Sector, CRPF has organised “Swachta hi Sewa hai” campaign, under the National Hygiene Mission Campaign on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, on Monday. Under this campaign, the CRPF along with the participation of local MLA, AL Hek and Prakash D, IPS Inspector General of Police, NES, CRPF, has cleaned the Polo Ground, Polo Market and its surrounding areas.

Eye check-up
As many as 376 patients were benefitted from the free eye check-up camp organised by Jain Terapanth Mahila Mandal at Goenka Cantonment Hospital with support of Cantonment Board in collaboration with Bansara Eye Hospital, which was concluded on Sunday.V Kyndiah, CEO of Cantonment Board inaugurated the programme.
