SHILLONG: The empowered committee entrusted to finalise the fifth pay commission recommendations is likely to submit its report in November.
An official, who is part of the committee, said that there were 13 sittings by the committee and there will be some more meetings before the committee finalises the recommendations.
It was in August that Meghalaya government had notified the empowered committee headed by Principal Secretary, Finance, RV Suchiang to examine the recommendations of the commission which had completed its task on July 31.
Since Suchiang is out of station for two weeks, the next meeting of the committee will be held only after her arrival.
The pay panel had earlier recommended 25.6 percent over all hike in its recommendation to the government.
Sources said that the empowered committee is unlikely to change the hike recommended by the commission.
Chief Minister Mukul Sangma recently said that the government will not wait till December to implement the pay panel recommendations.
