7153 bogus job cards deleted

Aizawl: In all 7,135 bogus NREGS job cards have been detected in the eight districts of Mizoram so far, an official statement from Rural Development Department said here on Saturday.

Taking a serious note of media reports on the prevalence of fake job cards under the Centrally-sponsored rural employment scheme recently, the chief secretary instructed all the district administrators to conduct a drive against such bogus job cards in their respective jurisdictions. ”In an ongoing drive, 7153 fake job cards have been detected and immediately deleted. By deleting 7153 fake job cards, the government has been saved from wasting Rs 1537.89 lakh,” the statement said. (UNI)
