UDP Ranikor gets first women’s wing

MAWKYRWAT: The United Democratic Party (UDP) Ranikor Constituency, South West Khasi Hills District got its first women’s wing where more than 200 members joined the party in a function held at Mawkyrwat on Sunday.
The women who came from different parts of the constituency said they joined the party with the objectives to defeat the Congress and therefore, pleaded their support to the party candidate, Pius Marwein.
The meeting was attended by UDP Ranikor Circle, president, G.G.Bung Snaitang and Marwein.  
 In this meeting, the first ever women’s wing of the UDP Ranikor Constituency was formed in which I. Dkhar was elected as the president, Elsistina Thongni, Smildaris Syiemlieh, Jenny Wahlang, Phultimina Syiemlieh, Mercida Wanniang and Thwisilla Imiong as vice presidents, Ritalis Hashah as secretary, Aitihun Lyngdoh, Ilomina Thongni, Biliancy Shangpliang and Banylla Syiemlieh as joint secretaries, Kristina Thongni as treasurer, Listen Marwein as adviser and 30 members of the executive committee.
