GNC to contest seven seats

SHILLONG: The Garo National Council (GNC) will start issuing forms from Saturday to the ticket aspirants who want to contest the Assembly elections in February.
The decision was taken in a meeting of the party held on Thursday in Tura.
The party will contest in seven constituencies in Garo Hills.
GNC said the aspiring candidates can collect the forms from the party’s head office in Tura.
The GNC vice president, Augustine Marak, said the party on Thursday constituted the election steering committee to choose the candidates.
The party appointed Heringstone R Marak as the chairman of the committee. Others who are part of the committee are Wining Ch Marak and HA Sangma.
The party will issue forms till January next.
