Restaurant to cater to tourists

 SHILLONG: Urban Affairs Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh on Tuesday inaugurated revamped restaurant of a traditional Khasi food stall, Aiti-belti Trattoria at Khyndai Lad which has been renovated to a modern look which will also cater to tourists.

Aiti-belti Trattoria also commemorated the 30th anniversary of the restaurant this year. The conciliation has proven favourable since Trattoria has now been converted into a magnificent show room of local food reservoir.

Urban Affairs Minister has appreciated the family for being able to sustain the restaurant for 30 years.

After a decade of legal dispute with the State government, the owners of the Trattoria won the legal battle and MUDA facilitated to pacify them by reserving a proper space at MUDA complex..

The main promoter of the restaurant, Pynskhembhalang Suting narrated the history of the shop that started initially as an ordinary food court and gradually shaped into a presentable modern restaurant.
