SHILLONG: Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) leader Adelbert Nongrum feels that the party can be the best option for the people of the state as it has a clean image.
The KHNAM working president, who is also the MDC from Jaiaw constituency, said the party would garner a number of seats in next year’s elections.
The party has finalised the names of five candidates for the 2018 polls and another three are awaiting review by its election committee.
Nongrum said the party is preparing to field 10-15 candidates.
“We have high hopes that the party this time will perform better compared to previous MLA elections as this time around we are giving tickets to candidates who stand a chance of winning the elections,” he added.
Meanwhile, he also clarified his statement appearing in a section of the media saying he did not say he would solve the problem of employment if the party is voted to power but that he would try as much as they can to work for the youths of the state besides coming up with a youth policy.
