SHILLONG: The 2018 elections in Meghalaya will be a battle against the Congress, the common adversary of all political parties in the state, BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli has said.
Addressing the media after a public meeting in Sohra on Thursday, Kohli said, “We will expose the track record of the Congress government of Mukul Sangma that does not want to fight this election on its promises and track record but on false propaganda against BJP.”
The senior leader assured that BJP would destroy the Congress’s false propaganda with its positive agenda.
“The common agenda is to fight against the Congress. The main political adversary for everybody who wants development in Meghalaya is the Congress,” he said.
On the demonetisation move which will mark its first anniversary on November 8, Kohli said, “While BJP is celebrating everything in the fight against corruption and black money, the Congress is opposing everything in the fight against corruption and black money.”
He accused the Congress of not bringing any law on foreign assets and not doing enough to kill black money.
“The Congress must explain why they are so interested in protecting black money, why are they interested in opposing the fight against black money,” Kohli remarked.
