SHILLONG: Information Technology Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh said on Monday the government is investing in an IT park and will partner with companies from outside the state.
Speaking at the 5th convocation on Graphics & Web Designing (GWD) of Arena Animation, the minister said 2018 will be a big year and “we will have a better IT park in New Shillong Township as there are plans to start the park with state-of-the-art technology”.
The proposed park will cost Rs 580 crore.
While interacting with students, she pointed to the job opportunities outside government service if they are armed with a certificate course on web designing or graphics.
She added that students can be job creators by utilising technological skills and urged them to think out of the box.
Meghalaya Information Technology Society (MITS) has tied up with Arena Animation, Shillong (Global InfoTech) to provide Graphics and Web based trainings to the youths of the state.
This programme is being run in phases. In the fifth phase, the number of students who had taken the training is 70. They have successfully completed their training in Arena Animation Shillong.
