Carnes Cong candidate in Mawkyrwat

SHILLONG/Mawkyrwat: The Mawkyrwat Block Congress Committee has sent Carnes Sohshang’s name as the candidate for next year’s Assembly elections, to the state party high command.
This was informed during the meeting chaired by Manstudy Nongrem, the president of South West Khasi Hills District Congress Committee at the office party recently.
Sohshang is a senior functionary of the party and has worked as the secretary in the youth Congress.
Veteran Congress leader and sitting MLA from Mawkyrwat, Rowell Lyngdoh is planning to leave the party and aspiring to contest the Assembly election from Mawkyrwat on a National People’s Party (NPP) ticket.
Sohshang who was the chief organiser of the Block Congress Committee, will be contesting against Lyngdoh.
