SHILLONG: The banned militant outfit, Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC), has come down heavily against the Congress-led MUA-II government alleging that the ruling Congress party has defended and protected all its tainted ministers.

Lauding the recent High Court of Meghalaya order asking the CBI to carry out further investigate into the White Ink scam (Education scam), the HNLC in a statement, asserted that the main culprit of the scam, Congress minister Ampareen Lyngdoh, should be awarded the life imprisonment.

Criticising the coalition government, the HNCL publicity secretary ,Saiñkupar Nongtraw recalled the “manipulations” indulged in my the incumbent government in respect of  cases of `fake encounter’ of Full moon Dhar, the shoot-out at Mookhep Jaintia hills, the killing of Ajaju, political Secretary, ANVC etc.

“All these enquiry commissions were functioning like puppets into the hands of Dr Mukul Sangma. The unholy nexus between the police department and the politicians has caused a lot of injustices to our people,” he said.

HNLC’s hit list

The outfit stated that it was keeping a low profile as it was preparing implement its hit list that is topped by Chief Minister, Mukul Sangma.

“The CM is also included into the top hit list. In case, if he loses the 2018 upcoming legislative assembly elections he shall become very vulnerable and it will be easy for us to hunt him down. A person who gave us the hope of peace talks and cheated us does not deserve to live. He is a parasite to our ‘Jaidbynriew’,” they stated.

The outfit pointed out that they took the decision after they received a lot of complaints against the CM from Jaintia hills, Ri Bhoi, West Khasi hills and even Garo hills.

Predicting that it will be his last term as a chief Minister, in a warning to the CM, Nongtraw asked the CM to be prepared to face the music for his misdeeds.

He alleged that Sangma’s own party members including some of his party’s MLAs were attempting to topple him down.

He also stated that many Khasi politicians who are the backstabbers of the ‘jaidbynriew’ are in the hit list of the HNLC. He said the HNLC had tried to hunt down NPP MDC HS Shylla but he escaped.

Influx issue

The contentious issue of influx also figured in the statement released by the outfit, in which Nongtraw argued that the issue had been erased from the minds of the people of the state due to the planned forced integration of the Chief Minister, Mukul Sangma

He went on to allege that Sangma supports influx and hence was not in favour to control influx.

Further, flaying the Congress government, the HNLC publicity secretary said that the Congress regime was facing a downfall under Sangma’s dictatorial leadership and that the party was trying to reduce the ‘Jaidbynriew’ into a minority by encouraging influx.

“Many of his party members had abandoned and joined other parties because of his (Mukul Sangma’s) adamant attitude and manipulation,” the HNLC leader said.

Blaming the Chief Minister for all the economic downfall of the state, Nongtraw said that the CM wanted to control everything but now his own people were against him.

Referring to controversy over Sangma’s ST status, the HNLC leader said that the CM’s own party people were funding to dig out the CM’s ST status.

Terming it as a “humble warning,”, Nongtraw went on to add that it is all up to the Chief Minister, whether to change his dictatorial mindset or face the bullet.
