SHILLONG: The BJP’s National Secretary, Scheduled Tribe Morcha, Hayithung Bill Lotha, has launched an attack on Congress Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Dr Mukul Sangma for indulging in dynastic politics to plunder resources of the state even as he renewed his challenge to the Chief Minister to engage in a public debate with him on the issue of rampant corruption plaguing the state.

He alleged that there had been looting of the state’s resources by the Chief Minister and his family members.

“The state is currently managed by the Chief Minister, his brother Zenith Sangma (a cabinet minister) and the chief minister’s wife Dikanchi Shira, an MLA. There has been a dynastic rule in full swing in Meghalaya. There has been looting pf the entire state resources by a single family, that of the Chief Minister,” the BJP leader alleged.

On his call for debate on corruption with the Chief Minister, the BJP leader said, “The CM is shying away from a public debate on the issue. As a political leader, he has to be as fearless as a lion. Like a termite, corruption is eating into the bone marrow of the society in Meghalaya under the Congress rule.”

Lotha further said, “If the CM cares, he must accept my call for a five-hour public debate on corruption.”
