Fake currency notes printing den busted in Guwahati

GUWAHATI:  The city police here on Monday busted a fake currency printing den at Sijubari area under Hatigaon Police state seized fake currency worth Rs three lakh and recovered equipment and materials used for the illegal operation.

Police informed that acting on a tip-off that fake Rs 500 notes were being printed inside House No.10 of Minaj Path at Sijubari, a team of police personnel raised the house   and recovered a printer, fake currency notes amounting to Rs 3 lakh, one scanner, 17 colour cartridges and other materials.

However, the accused namely, Jainal Ahmed (45), Azmal Hoque (31) and Jiabuddin Lashkar (30), managed to give police a slip. They were staying on rent at the house owned by Ms Sahida Latif Begum, W/O Abu Akhtar Taher. Police have launched a search operation to nab the culprits.
