Teenager kidnapped, raped in WKH

NONGSTOIN: A 14-year-old girl has been allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted in West Khasi Hills.
Nongstioin police said the girl was kidnapped on Monday and found the next day, according to the FIR lodged by her 35-year-old mother who is a resident of Umsaw village in the district.
The FIR said the teenager was kidnapped around 2pm on Monday by two women, Jasinta Nongkseh and Tresina Lyngdoh Marshillong of New Nongstoin, after she was drugged.
The mother also said the women took her daughter towards Nongspung village. She was rescued on Tuesday with the help of New Nongstoin Senglongkmie.
Police said medical reports showed the girl was sexually assaulted and an inquiry has been started.
A case has been registered under the POCSO Act.
Domestic violence
A 26-year-old pregnant woman has been admitted in Civil Hospital here after she was assaulted allegedly by her husband.
The woman, Endalin Puwein of Pyndengbia village, lodged an FIR saying on November 3, her husband Sharling Shyrkon beat her.
The couple was living together since 2005.
The woman, who is five-months pregnant, is the mother of four.
Police said earlier too the woman was assaulted several times over financial problems and the man’s illicit relation with another woman.
A case of domestic violence under Section 498A of the IPC has been registered.
