Guwahati: A small tea grower, who was kidnapped by suspected ULFA militants earlier this week, was released by his abductors on Friday in eastern Assam’s Tinsukia district.
Police said the tea planter, Pranab Goswami, was found in a small hut in a village under Pengeri police station.
He was stated to be in stable health condition and reportedly sought help from local villagers to contact the security agencies.
It is not clear if ransom was paid by Goswami’s family to secure his release. (UNI)
