Nongpoh: The office of the Nongpoh Town Committee (NTC) was finally inaugurated by the Chief Adviser to the Government of Meghalaya, DD Lapang on Friday after two decades of functioning without an office since its formation 25 years ago.
Speaking at the function, Lapang congratulated the newly elected members of Nongpoh Town Committee for their selfless work in building the community and the new office building.
“As Nongpoh town is the main focal center of the District, it needs to set good example to other areas of the district and the state as a whole,” Lapang said adding that the committee is empowered to look into the welfare of the town such as cleanliness, developmental needs and others, hence he appealed to the members to render their best.
