PDF candidate gets donation to fight polls

SHILLONG: Draison Kharshiing, who is the People’s Democratic Front (PDF) candidate from Nartiang, has got a donation of Rs 5 lakh to contest the 2018 Assembly elections.
The money was donated by residents of Khanduli, a village on the Meghalaya-Assam border in West Jaintia Hills.
Kharshiing, a former MLA (2003-2008) from Nartiang and three-time MDC (1989-2004) from Moobakhon-Khanduli constituency, leads the Nartiang zonal committee of the party. He recently elected youth wing leaders at Umladang.
Meanwhile, PDF’s Mylliem zonal committee has welcomed Frederick J Lyngshiang during a recent meeting at Lawsohtun Community Hall.
Lyngshiang was the president of UDP Shillong City as well as president of UDP Laban-Mawprem constituency.
