Mandal chief’s dismissal irks Jirang BJP

NONGPOH: Members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as leaders of Jirang Mandal has strongly opposed the state general secretary and Ri Bhoi District president for removing the Mandal’s president without consulting the other leaders.
Talking about exception over the removal of Jirang BJP Mandal president Jhom Nongtri, the leaders on Saturday, held an emergency meeting at Patharkhmah Community Hall to discuss he dictatorial rules of State BJP general secretary and the Ri Bhoi party president.
Nongtri said the members unanimously decided to oppose general secretary Banshai Khongwir and District president B.B Makdoh for taking such drastic step without explanation. “Khongwir and Makdoh will have to clarify about my sudden dismissal. We have also issued a deadline on failing of which, they will not be allowed to conduct election campaign in Jirang constituency for the upcoming elections,” he added.
He further said the Jirang BJP Mandal has also decided to make an official complaint to the State BJP leaders urging them to intervene on the matter.
