SHILLONG: The UDP-HSPDP alliance in Mawlai has decided to support Embhahlang Syiemlieh, the sitting UDP MLA from Mawlai constituency.
Syiemlieh is the alliance’s candidate for the Assembly elections in 2018.
In this connection, Mawlai UDP-HSPDP Election Campaign Committee led by Syiemlieh and Elmer War, president HSPDP, as general secretary of the committee, was formed.
Expressing satisfaction at the alliance, he said HSPDP president, Ardent Basaiawmoit would campaign for him to ensure electoral success for the forthcoming elections.
So far, Process T. Sawkmie, an aspirant Congress party candidate, Embhah Syiemlieh, Sarita Nongpiur, wife of late Founder Cajee and Teibor Pathaw, People’s Democratic Front (PDF) member are in the fray for the Mawlai seat.
