Air Marshal Browne stresses on operations, infrastructure

 SHILLONG: Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal NAK Browne who arrived in the city on Monday has stressed upon the importance of operations,infrastructure development in the North East Region with an aim towards increasing accessibility to the region.

Addressing the Commanders here, Air Chief Marshal NAK Browne stated that the entire focus of the force must be on the operations as the IAF is doing a capability enhancement across the board in terms of new inductions.

Earlier during the day, he was received by the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command Air Marshal S Varthaman. Later he also interacted with the Commanders of all the formations under Eastern Air Command as well as the key appointments and Principal Staff Officers of the Command.

 It may be mentioned that this is the first visit of the Air Chief to the North East Region, after assuming  the charge as the IAF Chief earlier this year.

The three- day visit to the region will include visits to bases such as Guwahati, Tezpur, Chabua besides Shillong to oversee the planned infrastructure development by the IAF in the region.
