Meghalaya cabinet approves MLAs salary amendment ordinance

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Cabinet on Thursday approved the Legislative Assembly of Meghalaya Members Salary and Allowance   Amendment Ordinance which was to be replaced by a Bill.

Chief Minister, Mukul Sangma informed that the Cabinet on Thursday approved the Bill which will now be placed before the House which is scheduled to begin from December 8.

Earlier, Meghalaya Government had reduced the salary of legislators by Rs 8,000 through an ordinance. With this cut, the total emoluments of MLAs per month will be Rs 2.02 lakh.

Meanwhile, the State Cabinet also approved the appointment of Dr Manor Sadhwar as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Governor of Meghalaya, Ganga Prasad.
