 BSF nabs 118 smugglers in 12 months

SHILLONG: The Border Security Forces have made commendable progress in regard to checking trans-border crimes and insurgency during the past 12 months.
BSF personnel have apprehended as many as 118 smugglers on the Meghalaya border between December 1, 2016 and November 30, 2017.
During the period, two militants – ASAK and ULFA – have surrendered to the force while one HNLC (overground worker), and four Bangladeshis were held.
“We have been dealing with threats to nation firmly and will keep on doing so. We are keeping vigilant watch over Rohingya crisis also.  BSF appreciates the cooperation of Meghalaya Police, customs and forest departments and other sister agencies,” said P K Dubey, IG BSF Meghalaya Frontier.
