SHILLONG: The decision of Rophul S Marak, MLA from Rongra-Siju constituency to withdraw from the MUA-II Government led by Mukul Sangma in the last minute is only a joke according to Augustine R Marak, MDC from Silkigre.
The Garo National Council leader who is also sitting MDC in the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) alleged that their MLA never raised his voice for the development of Rongara Siju Constituency, in the last five years.
“He never raised his voice against NGT Ban issue, border issues and about the delay of National Highway 62 construction. Mukul had given him a good bed, net, cousins and mattress to sleep and so he slept well for 5 years,” Augustine Marak said in a press statement issued on Thursday.
“Now he is waking up only to celebrate the upcoming holiday and cracking Christmas joke such as “MUA-11 neglected the Rongara Siju Constituency “. Why didn’t such words come before 2 to 3 years if MUA-11 government really neglected our constituency. Nobody will believe in this last minute acting and last minute wake up,” Augustine added.
