NEIGRIHMS withdraws notification on language, timing

SHILLONG: Amid criticism, NEIGRIHMS withdrew the notification related to the use of Khasi language in the College of Nursing on Tuesday.
In the notification issued earlier, all B.Sc. nursing students of the college were directed not to communicate only in Khasi in their hostels and that a fine of Rs 500 would be imposed on those found communicating in other language.
In a statement, NEIGRIHMS also said that another notification related to hostel timings for the nursing students, was also withdrawn and the issue would be resolved shortly.
As per the notification, students of the college were asked not to go out of the college gate after 6pm.
