SHILLONG: Eight sitting MLAs who are slated to join the National People’s Party (NPP), are all set to resign from their post and submit their resignation to the Speaker of Meghalaya Assembly on Friday
The eight legislators include Siawbhalang Dhar (Nartiang), Comingone Ymbon (Raliang), Hopeful Bamon (Sutnga Saipung), Stephanson Mukhim (Amlarem), Prestone Tynsong (Pynursula), Remington Pyngrope (Mawkynriew), Rowell Lyngdoh (Mawkyrwat) and Ngaitlang Dhar (Umroi).
All these MLAs who will join the National People’s Party (NPP)during a public rally on January 4 next.
Out of eight MLAs, five are from the ruling Congress, one belongs to UDP while the remaining two are independent legislators.
Meghalaya Chief Minister, Mukul Sangma has already downplayed the desertion of the MLAs saying it would not affect the party in the upcoming polls.
