Cong to announce poll candidates after Jan 12

SHILLONG:   The Congress party may announce its candidates for the upcoming Assembly polls any time after January 12.

Congress spokesperson, Ronnie V Lyngdoh informed that the meeting of the Pradesh Election Committee is on January 12 and the names of poll candidates might be announced any time after that.

“Though desertions were there in the party, but we are being flooded with candidates and there is a rush to get tickets,” Lyngdoh said.

It may be mentioned that the Congress party in the state has received more than 100 applications from people who wants to contest the polls as a Congress candidate.

While the, NPP, UDP and   HSPDP   have more or less announced the names of their candidates for the polls, national parties like BJP and Congress are yet to announce their candidates.

Similarly, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced the name of four candidates while KHNAM is yet to announce its candidates.
