5 leaders join UDP

SHILLONG: Leaders from United Democratic Party (UDP), Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) and Congress quit their respective parties to join the People’s Democratic Front (PDF) in Mylliem.
The leaders who have left their parties are Bankhraw Kharbuli (KHNAM), Frederick Lynshiang, Richeal Wankhar, president from UDP Lawsohtun, Rucus Kharshiing, president of Congress Lawsohtun and Denzil Nongkynrih from Congress.The members have decided to extend their support to PDF candidate from Mylliem Constituency
Kharbuli contested from KHNAM who was the party’s candidate for the Council’s bye-poll in 2016, while Lynshiang was the UDP candidate for the same bye-polls.
With the joining of the five leaders, Dohling expressed confidence that the party will gain victory in the Assembly elections.
