SHILLONG: Police personnel from Laban police station on Tuesday evening arrested a person, Mitesh Kr Pandit, on suspicions of attempt to kidnap a minor girl on the pretext of giving her Rs 50.
Locality head, Pyrkhat Mylliemngap said that the girl was playing with her friends on the road side of the locality when Pandit came on a bike (ML 05 M 4354) and called her to accompany him offering her Rs 50.
He was staying as a tenant in one of the houses in the locality.
However, some residents became suspicious of Pandit’s move and informed the Dorbar Shnong who in turned called the police. The matter is under investigation.
