Tynsong calls for a chance to NPP to govern Meghalaya

SHILLONG: The NPP leader, Prestone Tynsong is continuing his tirade against the Chief Minister, Mukul Sangma claiming that the Congress government under the leadership of Sangma in Meghalaya will soon come to an end

Speaking at a programme after inaugurating the NPP’s Nongthymmai constituency office in Rynjah on Thursday, Tynsong said that it was time for the people of the state to bring about a change and give a chance to the NPP to govern the state after the Assembly election.

He said a tsunami of sort has shaken the entire state of Meghalaya in recent weeks with the joining of prominent political leaders including himself ranks of the NPP.

“In politics there is no friendly match as is the case between the UDP and HSPDP because when we contest election, we contest to win and another is that the NPP has its own manifesto and ideology and hence the friendly match between the two regional parties will only create confusion among the people,” he said.

Stating that many political parties in the state are claiming that the NPP of having a nexus with the BJP, he said, “The people should not believe in such things as many political parties are scared of the growing clout of the NPP, hence they are using such tactics to mislead the public especially after many sitting MLAs joining the NPP.”

Meanwhile, NPP candidate from Nongthymmai, Ehkupar Nongrum urged his supporters to lend their support to him in the upcoming polls.

Informing that there are certain areas in the constituency with are still impoverish, he said, “If I win the MLA elections and my party comes to power the first thing on my priority list is to try and find ways and means to eradicate poverty from the constituency,” he said.
