Hek dismisses allegations of joining BJP for personal gains

SHILLONG: BJP leader, AL Hek has denied the allegations made by the Chief Minister, Mukul Sangma   that he has joined BJP for his personal gain and in the interests of his business.

“When I was in the Cabinet, Chief Minister, Mukul Sangma   and other Ministers requested me to introduce them to senior leaders in New Delhi. So all those advances were for my personal gain or for the benefit of the people and the state? Hek questioned.

He also added that he was doing business for his family since last many years while he was in politics for long for serving the people and he did not compromise anywhere.

“I am not a government supplier or contractor and I am doing purely a private business without doing a business of even a single pie with the Government,” he said.

Hek recalled that he had met Narendra Modi when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat and he met him even after Modi became the Prime Minister solely for the benefit of the state.

While maintaining that he respects the Chief Minister, Hek said that he joined BJP for the benefit of the state and joining BJP will bring lot of benefits for the people and the state.

“Myself and Chief Minister being a senior leader in the state, we cannot afford to be a desperado,” he added.
